Wonderful Victorian hand chased ornate sterling silver bar brooch, featuring a violin and ivy leaves gilded in rose gold and yellow gold.
The brooch has English hallmarks, stamped with a lion, an anchor, and the date letter is 'q'. The makers mark is H & W for Harvey & Warner. This means that the brooch is sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham, and is dated 1890.
The brooch is in very good condition, the clasp works well. There is an indentation to the left of the violin, which maybe how it was made.
This is a beautiful and fine quality antique silver bar brooch from the Victorian era.
